Energy

At Formichella & Sritawat, our Energy Law practice delivers practical, business-focused legal support to clients operating across Thailand’s dynamic energy sector. We advise on regulatory compliance, project development, and commercial transactions spanning traditional and renewable power and energy infrastructure.

We work with independent power producers, multinational developers, investors, and EPC contractors, offering strategic guidance at every stage—from project structuring and licensing to contract negotiation and regulatory submissions.

John Formichella, founding partner, has extensive experience advising on complex cross-border energy matters, regulatory compliance, EPC contracts, fuel supply contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and infrastructure investment. John was formerly an in-house counsel for the EPC contractor and the owner’s engineer on the Taiwan Fourth Nuclear Power Project, managing commercial contract matters with the project owner and project vendors. His work reflects a deep understanding of both legal and commercial drivers in the energy sector.

Naytiwut Jamallsawat, partner and head of the firm’s regulatory practice, provides in-depth expertise in Thai administrative and energy law. He advises clients on licensing for power and renewable energy projects, land-use issues, and environmental compliance, with particular focus on aligning legal strategy with government policy and sector-specific regulation.

Our team is exceptionally skilled in navigating intersections between energy, data center regulation, and telecommunications, positioning us to advise on emerging areas such as smart grid development, renewable integration, and dedicated power supply for data centers.
